Sami the Seinäjoki Sniper sinks the Swiss – 06.10.2017

Champions Cup hosts SPV Seinäjoki had a big night as they beat SV Wiler-Ersigen 3-1 in tonight’s late quarter-final. Sami Koski’s two goals made him the hero of SPV who will play IBF Falun in Saturday’s semi-final.

The first period remained goalless with both teams anxious to protect their nets but in the beginning of the second the time was right for Sami Koski to strike. He put SPV ahead just to see Wiler’s Andrin Hollenstein equalize just a couple of minutes later.

Marco Louis’ two-minute penalty for obstruction at 35.03 proved fatal for Wiler as goalie Nicolas Wolf made his move for a pass fragments of a second too early and Sami Koski did not waste time to put another one in the near corner.

SV Wiler had several marvelous shot cling the crossbar in the second period but in the third they did not get even that close. SPV were able to kill Jari Hankkio’s two-minute penalty and after Wiler had pulled their goalie Jari Hankkio nailed their coffin shut with a long shot into the open net.
