CC 2017 Team Presentations - Men – 27.09.2017

 2017 Champions Cup in Seinäjoki, Finland on the 6th - 8th of October 2017.

The Champions Cup is the championship tournament for the European Top Club teams. The tournament will be played with 12 teams (6 men´s teams and 6 women´s teams) 6th - 8th October 2017 in Seinäjoki, Finland.

Currently, the six teams involved, for both the men´s & women´s competition, are determined as follows:
- National Club champions of Czech Republic, Finland, Sweden & Switzerland
- A second team from the organising country
- Winner of the previous year´s EuroFloorball Cup

The best men´s club teams in Europe battling for the Cup title this year in the Men’s Champions Cup 2017 are Classic (FIN), IBF Falun (SWE), SV Wiler-Ersigen (SUI), Fat Pipe Florbal Chodov (CZE), UHC Sparkasse Weissenfels (GER) and Seinäjoen Peliveljet (FIN). 

The winner of the Champions Cup receives prize money of 10 000 CHF and the runner-up receives 5 000 CHF. Also, the reigning EuroFloorball Cup (EFC) champion receives 5 000 CHF, if participating in the CC.

Team Classic´s aim for the tournament is to be sporty, fighting and skilful team.

Players to watch

Krister Savonen: Defender with amazing touch of the ball. One of the best players in the world at the moment. WFC 2016 all-star player.
Joonas Pylsy: Not the biggest guys, but one of the best centers in Finland.
Lassi Vänttinen: One of the legends. Still plays at the top level in the world with amazing passes.

This Swedish team likes to play an offensive game and that each player is involved in the game on the whole court. Their goal for the Champions Cup 2017 is to play their game and go for the title.

Players to watch

Alexander Galante-Carlström: An extreme sniper.
Johannes Larsson: A fantastic all-around player who can play defense, forward and center position.
Emil Johansson: He is everywhere on the court, you don´t know if he´s an defender or forward.

After years of stability the look of the team has now changed with the new players and, with many young players. Team´s aim for the tournament is to go to the semi-final round.

Players to watch

Tatu Väänänen: Captain of the Finnish WFC team and the SV Wiler-Ersigen. Tatu has been selected three times as the Finnish Floorball player of the year.
Matthias Hofbauer: Swiss floorball legend. All-time leading scorer of the world championships - almost 1000 scoring points in swiss league.
Daniel Johnsson: Former top scorer of Helsingborg, named "Magic" for his famous Zorro-moves.

Last year team Fat Pipe Florbal Chodov came to the Champions Cup to gain experience. This year they would like to profit from this experience. Goal for the tournament is to advance to the finals.

Players to watch

Tomas Sykora: Captain of the team and member of the Czech national team. He has a great overview of the game and can support the offence.
Tom Ondrusek: Right handed point maker with experience from Swedish League and Czech national team. The team relies on his point contributions.
Ondrej Mikes: First center of the team. He has experience form the Swedish League and Czech national team. The ball is never lost to him.

Team UHC Sparkasse Weissenfels is very proud to be amongst the participants of this year´s Champions Cup. Winning the EuroFloorball Cup 2016, which was played in their home arena in Weissenfels, was indeed a wonderful and unique experience. They are not expecting to make it to the finals, however they are starting with the best sportsmanlike attitude possible and would like to present German floorball at the next stage.

Players to watch

Anssi Soini: Super-fast and super-skilled forward with great individual tactics and still 100% team player.
Axel Kuch: Youngster who has played two U19 world cups and gained two years floorball experience in KooVee, Finland. Axel is technically skilled and always ready to score.
Tim Böttcher: UHC´s team captain is valued for his all-rounder qualities on and besides the playing field. Tim is a passionate floorball player, giving always 100% for the team.

SPV is a three-time Finnish champion from 2012, 2013 and 2015. Champions Cup in 2012 they were 3rd and in 2013 2nd. This time their goal is to do better than in previous CC tournaments. Third time´s the charm?

Players to watch

Jari Hankkio: Very good goal scorer. Highly skilled with the ball.
Mikko Kohonen: Finnish salibandyliiga all-time top scorer. Still one of the most dangerous goal scorers in the world.
Sami Koski: Very clever player. Finds his teammates very well. His passing skills is one of the best in Finland.
